Winter 2018
Early Childhood Groups
Ages 3-6

Fridays (January 5, 2018 - February 23, 2018) from 9:00-11:00

Saturdays (January 5, 2018 - February 24, 2018) from 9:00-11:00

Bringing Therapy Home offers fun, age-appropriate, interactive groups utilizing research-based curriculum.

Groups are designed for children ages 3 through 6 years old – this includes all children –typically developing children and children with needs (speech, language, fine motor, gross motor, or cognitive delays).

We utilize a visual schedule, movement, objects to represent vocabulary and concepts, visuals, step-by-step communicators, and a communication device so that all children, regardless of their developmental level, can participate.

We offer groups on Friday mornings and Saturday mornings. Groups are 120 minutes and last for 8 weeks.

Bringing Therapy Home's Friday Winter groups begin on January 5, 2018 and groups occur every Friday through February 23, 2018.

Bringing Therapy Home's Saturday groups start on January 6, 2018 and groups occur every Saturday through February 24, 2018.

The total cost for the 8 week group session is $360.

Your child may enroll your child for both Friday and Saturday groups (total cost of $720).

Snacks are provided and dietary restrictions are honored.

Two weeks prior to the start of the group, you will be contacted by one of the facilitators to discuss your child’s strengths and specific needs of your child. This information will be utilized to plan and develop the activities used for the group sessions.  You do not need to receive current services from Bringing Therapy Home to register for the group classes.  Group classes are open to the community.

The Friday group sessions are led by Marena Mitchell, a speech-language pathologist, Sarah Eller, an
occupational therapist, Michelle Sindorf, an occupational therapist, and Emilyjane Eichman, a board certified music therapist.

The Saturday group sessions are led by Marena Mitchell, a speech-language pathologist, Michelle Sindorf, an occupational therapist, and Michele Di Brito, a special education teacher, and Emilyjane Eichman, a board certified music therapist.

If your child has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or receives services from an outside provider, please let us know what your child's goals are and we can embed the goals into the group activities.

To enroll your child in a group, please complete the registration form, located at the bottom of the page.  Once the registration form has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required with your registration (the amount will be applied toward the class fee; however, if you cancel your child's registration, the deposit is forfeited).  Missed class sessions are not reimbursed. Once classes begin, refunds are not issued.

"Growing Together"

When children arrive to groups, they have the choice to enter free play in any of the open rooms. One team member will be in each room to facilitate play and developmental skills.

In our "Language and Literacy" room, skills such as role playing, sequencing, positional concepts, vocabulary, making associations, increasing use of spontaneous language, increasing the length and complexity of their language, answering questions, asking questions, expanding on language using descriptive words, verbal turn-taking, and responding to peers using age-appropriate language will be targeted.

In our "Fine Motor/Constructive Play" room, skills such as problem solving, sequencing steps, building structures, writing letters and drawing pictures will be the focus.

In our "Gross Room" motor, skills such as working together with partners, looking toward the person talking to you, turn-taking, using words to describe feelings, sharing, using an appropriate volume level, responding to unexpected events, appropriate behavior when with others, defending possessions appropriately, asking questions to peers, answering questions, commenting, expressing thoughts, and joining peers already playing.

In our "Sensory/Exploratory Room," the children will explore different consistencies within the sensory table.  Hand strengthening activities will be focus during table top activities.

At 10:30, the children will enter small groups.  One group will have snack, where they will use utensils to serve each other snack to target self-help skills, math concepts, and social skills. The other group will participate in circle where the focus will be on group participation, remaining with the group, and answering questions.  The kids will rotate so all children participate in both small groups.

Throughout the morning, all developmental skills will naturally be embedded into child-directed activities to emphasize your child's strengths and areas of interest.
